Face painting

Tradition at the fair is face painting.

The Cheetah...

Pretty butterfly face...

And a tiger.....
I realize there is a big shadow and part of Jayda's head in
the picture but I love how her eyes look in this one-
all tigery.

The gang goofing it up!

A little catch up.

1.  I can't stress to you how crazy our summer has been. I have not had so many daily activities going on since I was in high school! A teenager is work lemme tell ya! She has 2 appts. every week, case aid at least twice a week, family visits every week, respite twice a month, a team meeting, and she also had 2 dentist appts. and 2 doctors appts. Then add in visiting teaching, Koe (our cat) going to the vet+meds everyday, birthday parties, the fair, YW activities, and volunteering at the share n wear. I seriously only had one day on my calender that wasn't filled in! (except Sundays) And on Wednesday it was 4 appts! I give up. Even though I am not wanting my kids to go to school yet. I am ready for a break. And my house is in desperate need of a deep cleaning!! They need to go to school for a week or so then be done again. :)
2.  So the kids start school this next Wednesday. Tear. Jase will be a big second grader. She will do great and I am excited for her. Jayda will be in preschool again. We decided to hold her back. It is a bit sad. All of her little friends are going to big schools and she isn't. She is such a cute, smart girl but not quite ready for kindergarten. It has been kind of a tough decision for us but we hope in the long run this will be much better for her.
3. Speaking of Jayda. I have started reading a book suggested to us called the Out-of-Sync Child. I am excited. I am hoping we get some good ideas for helping us cope with Jayda's sensory issues. I've already read about 90 pages since getting it yesterday and some of it IS making sense. Anything to help us raise this very particular girl will be awesome!
4.  Funny story. At Seans work yesterday they went to do an oil change and Justin opened the hood and a kitten came screaming out. It went running across the floor and into the pit (the area under the pitstop where you go under the cars to work on them). So we went food and carrier equipped down there to wrangle it. It was pretty freaked but thanks to cousin Jon's stick poking and Kelsey's brave snag we caught it. It was madder than a hornet. But after we put it in the carrier and in the car it calmed down and let us pet it through the holes so we thought maybe it wasn't to bad. I decided it needed some water since it was panting. Whoops. So now we had a scared scratching kitten hidden up by the pedals. The guy said it wasn't his so we decided to take it back to the neighborhood it came from and just let it go. So off we went. I drove gingerly so my flip flop clad tootsies wouldn't get bloodied and we made it. We opened all the doors and proceeded to poke, prod and wack everything around the dang thing and it wouldn't budge. It took us FORTY minutes to get it out and only because Kelsey once again came to the rescue. She reached up there (all the way to her shoulder!) and grabbed it. Man, was it hissing and spitting and growling and so was Kelsey along with saying a few choice words. Ha. But we got it a little calmed down by wrapping it up and petting it and then watched it jog away. Kelsey has a few battle scars and may need a trip to the doctor. We shall see. But it was a good time. What a memory this will be!
5. And lastly I am a tad bit sad summer is going to be over.
Not to many days left to do this.....
I am excited for the things to come but boy o boy do I love summer.
*sniff sniff*

OH CRAP!

Literally.
Doctor ordered a colonoscopy.
OUCH!
Probably TMI but this wouldn't be my blog
if it didn't involve bodily something or other.
I'm a bit nervous.
But I do love when doctors have answers!

And on a side note.
I am glad I'm not the only one of my friends
who's fallen a little behind on the blog.
I got lots to post so stay tuned.

I love them kids

It's not child labor if they're your own kids, right?
I didn't think so.

P.S. Can you believe those totally different skin tones!

New Washer

We were watching our first load in our new washer as a family (yep that's how cool we are!) and it was making the clicking noise for locking the door and Jase said "Dad I think you overloaded it." After a few seconds it clicked again and she said "Yep, I think you did."
Don't worry we didn't!
I don't think anyone would argue with me
about her being a worry wart.

Shopping......and not excited.

Who wouldn't be excited to shop?
Besides boys anyways.
Me.
Our washing machine broke
and Sean's guessing it's not worth the fix.
Apparently,
Another talk on how much a 14 year old can stuff
in a washing machine is in order.
I want this next one to last a little longer.
Good thing
I don't stress the small stuff, right!?

Peaches, Peaches and more Peaches

(Just so you know Kelley--
I thought of you when writing this post.
I am desperately trying to measure up to
your money saving awesomeness!)

Soooo
I totally scored.
I was at the farmers market on Saturday.
I love peaches.
And they had a ton of peaches.
FOR $15 A BOX.
But I saw them throwing the not so perfect
ones in their own boxs under the table.
Soooooo
I asked the lady
"How much for the not so perfects under the table?"
At first she didn't want to charge me but being the good
person I am I convinced her to charge me something!
So I got 2 boxes
of not so perfect peaches
for 2 dollars!
And do you know what you can make
with not so perfect peaches.....
PERFECT PEACH FREEZER JAM...
THAT OF COURSE THE GIRLS GOT IN ON.....
AS WELL AS PERFECT PEACH CRISP......
and not to mention
Peach cobbler.
Although that didn't turn out so perfect.
Whoops.
Heres to hoping the farmers market lady is still nice this next Saturday...

Yoga

I have been trying to get into Yoga.
It is supposed to help with the pain.
Jayda likes it anyway.

The Yoga video is actually for the elderly.
hahaha
Pretty cute huh.

Out of the mouths of babes

Jase crawled into bed with me in the morning and said "Awww.....Mom you have wrinkles, and they are so cute."

Jayda came in while I was getting dressed and said "Mom, why do you wear a bra?" I said "I dunno, it's just what girls do." Jayda "Oh, it's good you wear one because it makes your boobs look bigger."

Nothing like a few compliments to get you going in the morning.

I love you girls
and all your honesty too!
