Haha Jayda

I allot myself about $10 a month for free spending. Whatever I want. I usually end up buying the girls something but it satisfies my need for shopping. I take great pride in seeing just how many things I can get with my measly $10. Today we were headed downtown because I still had $7 burning a hole in my pocket and the month is almost over.

Jayda asked "Where are we going?"
I told her "Goodwill."
We haven't been in awhile, I've been on strike since they raised their prices!
She asked "Why are we going there?"
I said "I want to do a little shopping."
She said "Ugh, Do we have to?"
I was a little puzzled because she usually loves shopping with me.
To which I responded "Well, no, but I want to."
Jayda said "But Mom I really don't think we need any new wheels."

Apparently it had been awhile.

So then while we were shopping she found something for a baby girl and wanted to buy it. I told her it wouldn't fit her and she said all excited "We could get it for our new baby sister." I told her "I don't even know if we are getting a baby sister, it could be a baby brother." To which she said "Well, Jesus knows I want a baby sister so he'll give me one, I know it." If it were only that easy! :) I love that girl!

Seattle here we come.

We RARELY go anywhere without the kids. We have actually only spent one time away (2 days when Jase was less than a year) and this was no different. I had an opportunity and we took the whole family along even though we were out of town less than 24 hours. I mean, to see friends and family for one day and then have crabby kids on Sunday was totally worth it. :)

My BFF since the seventh grade (who now lives in Cali) told me she was coming to WA to visit her mom in Seattle. I jumped at the chance to meet up with her. We don't get to see each other all to often but when we do it's just like old times. We talk and laugh for hours. Me and the fam drove over on Friday after Sean got off work and I dropped them off and met Diane at Shari's. It was already late and we stayed up past our bedtime chattin it up. Not near as long as we used to, I remember at least a couple sleepless nights. :) Friend time is always a good time! The great thing about our whirlwind trip is we had family to visit!! We stayed at Sean's brother Brad and his wife Anne's awesome new house. Plenty of room for us to snooze. And that was good because we had a busy fun day on Saturday. Off to downtown Seattle we went. I didn't think about it until later but we should have turned so the space needle was in the background. Duh.Jayda was awake by the time we had walked to the fountain but was still out of it.
We walked to the Seattle Science center and they had these fake Orcas in the water. Jayda could see they weren't real but wasn't real keen on keeping her back to them. Funny girl.
This is Jase touching a sea anemone. They are as slimy as they look.
They have a butterfly room. It is pretty cool. There are hundreds and they just fly all around you. You'd be surprised how many people scream when a toothless feather soft butterfly flies by. Thankfully no one, we were with, did! I kept hoping one would land on the girls nose or something but dangit they didn't. This is Lucy watching some eat oranges.
They had a huge bubble making station and this is Jayda blowing Jaegers bubble.
Thanks for the good time guys! We need to do it more often!

Thanks for letting me steal the pic Anne!

Catch up

Well I was trying to play catch up for the last week or so and can't. For some reason my pictures won't download. Ughhh!! I did get a couple but not the other 15 or so more. So I guess this is what you get.

I have a friend Kelley who once in awhile blesses me with her old unwanted clothing. It's great! Maybe half of them I keep for me and then hand the others off to other deserving clothing recycling friends. Jase saw this scarf and HAD to have it. She is wearing it with her dress I got at Wal-marts half-off clearance sale. $3.50. Not to shabby. Another dramatic thing that happened was Sadie got sick. She wasn't feeling well and hadn't been eating great. She stopped eating and I was feeling around and she had a baseball sized rock hard lump in her throat. She was pretty sick and went downhill fast. By the next morning she had huge swells in her mouth, couldn't breath well and couldn't swallow. I made an appt to get her put to sleep and took her in (that may sound a little harsh but I thought for sure it was cancer). It was a family affair. We went in and she said it was probably a tumor and asked if we wanted to do a test to find out. We said yes and she came in and put a needle in it and jabbed it in a few spots in and out. It made me cringe. It looked so painful and she was in terrible shape. After a few minutes they came in and said it looked like it was an infection. They said it could be an infection around a tumor but asked if we wanted to try antibiotics. We said yes, paid and went home. I had to feed her water through a syringe down her throat and she still couldn't eat. She stayed the same until the 2nd day on antibiotics. You could tell she was starting to feel a little better. I still had to help her drink with the syringe for a few days and she didn't eat for about 5 but she is doing great now. Her swelling is gone. It wasn't a tumor. Wahoo! And we will be done with her 10 day dose tomorrow. Yay.

Our beloved Yukon

We filed and received our tax return the first week in January. Why so quickly? Well, for one, no reason to wait but mostly because Sean has missed the Yukon something fierce. Who woulda thought a car could induce such a longing. But for Sean and the girls it did. A short week after we got our return and $2500 later, our favorite vehicle was up and running. As you can see here Sean is fiddling. Cleaning, checking something, or just admiring-I don't know. He's in love. The girls are as well. Jayda said "I don't want to ride in any other car ever" and Jase begs to ride with Sean at every possibility.
Notice Jase doing the monkey bars in the picture. She is 'into' them right now along with jump roping. Ahhh....I remember those days. Hopscotch, foursquare, kickball, monkey bars and jump rope.

Daney Boy

I have watched Dane on and off since he was born. Mostly on. He will be 3 shortly and I think I have only not watched him about 6 months or so. I am not watching him as much as I used to and I realized lately it's kinda wierd not having him around. I decided to post a few pictures and after I started I found I have A LOT. I didn't post them all, just the cute ones. Enjoy.
What a bald chunky monkey! Tried to do a photo shoot. HA!

Don't worry Brent. He said he was a 'boy princess'.We do have fun and love that boy. Happy early Birthday Dane, Daney Boy, Danyull, Doodle.

And if you want to see the amazing miracle going on over at the Staker blog click on the link in my previous post. AMAZING. He was clinically dead for over half an hour. CRAZY!! It was not his time that's for sure!

A day in the life of Jayda

Jayda is a hoot! Funniest kid I know. She is very descriptive and uses words like seriously and actually. She talks way to mature for her age. Here are some things she said today. I wrote them down word for word so I wouldn't forget any of it. And a few involve grossness. Can't say I didn't warn ya.

Jayda in a whiny voice-"Mom, Kai-lan (a cartoon) is not sharing." Me-"Jayda are you tattling on the TV?" And Jayda looks at me and smiles-"Yes"

After going to the bathroom. Me-"Did you wash your hands Jayda?" Jayda-"No, but I didn't actually pee or poop ON my hands." Me-"I'm sure you didn't but you still need to wash your hands."

Jayda was playing with her polly pocket and told me "I am talking to my dolly and I sooooo wish she was real...(pause)...Seriously"

Came up to me after playing outside gave me a hug and said "I'm sorry Mom" Me-"For what?" "Because I touched the dog poop outside." Me-"GROSS JAYDA" Jayda-"What? I washed my hands." Me-"Well I hope so" Jayda-"Oh, and I didn't mean to, I fell on it."

I am adamant about using the same cup throughout the day (no dishwasher) and told Jayda she needed to find hers for her Pediasure. Jayda-"But it's out in the car" an exasperated voice "I guess you're just gonna have to go get it cuz I'm not"

Soon after in a sad but confident voice "You were right Mom. I spilled my Vanilla Milk. All over."

Upon seeing I emptied the tub but her toy dolphin was still in it she said "But Mom, dolphins can't survive without water." Me-"Uh...Jayda they're not real." Jayda-"I know"

After going to the bathroom later "Mom, I just got one little drop of pee on my finger but I wiped it on my pants. Do I still have to wash my hands?" Me-"Yes." pause "And Jayda that's gross don't do it again." Jayda "OK Mom"

"I'll get the papers you dropped Mom because I'm a great daughter huh Mom"

Yes, Jayda you are a great daughter and We Love You a Ton you funny girl!

Penguin Fever

Jaselynne had her first big project due for school. A penguin project. They had to pick one of the seventeen types of penguins and make a display, do a written report and give an oral report in front of the class. Holy Cow, She's in first grade! We worked on the whole thing for hours. Studying, writing and crafting! It turned out pretty cute and she did really good. She had remembered seeing how to make penguins out of toilet paper rolls on Sprout (a kids channel) so we collected rolls for a week and looked it up online and went to work.
I cut out the pieces and she colored, glued, and taped everything.
Her favorite are the fuzzy babies. We spray painted cotton balls and glued on the parts.

We haven't found out how she did yet but I'm sure it was Awesome!!!

7 months

Warning: This is a depressing post. Not the worst sad post I've written but I won't be offended if you don't want to read it.

What a rotten day! Jase stayed home sick AGAIN. She just has a cold but the school doesn't want any sickies so home she stays! So not only am I crabby but my kids are crabby. Part of why I have had a hard time is because I haven't been able to get any running in since Monday!! I really do have reasons for not being able to go but still bums me out. It's been very therapeutic for me. The dumb flat tire doesn't help! I can't go when both kids are home and I haven't been able to do it when they were at school the last couple days (also errand time) and I don't like running in the dark. So here I sit--blogging in a bad mood. Which leads to aimless unhappy babbling. It's been 7 months. Today. 7 months since I have held my babies. Since I have told them I love them. What I wouldn't give to tell them that. To kiss their heads. Hug them. Hold them. No one could have told me I'd miss them this much. Man, I miss my Kaylin!! Her birthday is coming up. Another hard day to get through. Ughh! I'm going to do the dishes.

I've hit the mother load

I have been following a few craft sites lately and have fallen in love with all of them. I have gone through all the clothes destined for goodwill to see what awesome stuff I can make with them. When I am done-you guys will be the first to know. If you want to see some stuff for yourself you can at http://makeitandloveit.blogspot.com/
Love it!! And bonus she is doing a great giveaway from this bow, beadin lady http://aliciaaleedesign.blogspot.com/
Now get to gettin if you have a hankerin for some homemade cute stuff!

More than love for iCarly

As I mentioned before Jase and Jayda love iCarly. Its a show that I don't mind watching with them either. One of the girls names is Samantha (Sam) Puckett. In the most recent episode Sam participates in a beauty pageant and during the intro at the pageant she yells "My name is Sam Puckett and I love fried chicken!" Jase and Jayda loved that part and yelled it for the rest of the night! Obviously.

Stinkin Stroller

So a couple weeks ago I went to Walmart to buy new tubes for the ol Jogger since I would be using it again. I bought the more expensive supposedly unpopable kind. Pllbbbtt! While on our run (from our house up to the PitStop at Jayda's request) the thing exploded. Might I be the bearer of bad news---While running, Baby Joggers are not easy to keep straight with a totally flat left rear tire. So the Jogger sits. At the PitStop. As of today. Until payday. Good thing I still have Jazzercise! :) And thanks for the ride back Mom, made my life a little easier.
On a positive note. Sean told me today that he "thinks I'm getting prettier." *Point* And I had no makeup on. *2 Points* I think he is spending way to much time around car exhaust but I smiled a little bigger today.
