Rocks it is

We went down to the lake and threw rocks in the water today. Well, really it was mud with a little layer of green and then a thin layer of water on top. But Jase and Jayda thought that made it even more fun.
This was after Jase's huge mud splash.
This is an actual real smile outta Jayda. She rarely really smiles for pictures, I just happened to have the camera on her when she looked at me smiling about her great throw.
Jase-"Mom, take a picture of me on this rock, and on this one, and on this one, what about this log?"
And this is Jayda's contribution as a pose. I wanted them with these cool roots and Jayda posed cute and then turned around and wiggled at me. She thinks she's a hoot.

While we were down there we saw quite a bit of garbage. Jase said "Ohhh, Mom we need to be good to the world, we need to pick this up." And upon seeing another piece of garbage "Well that's not a part of Nature." She would only be satisfied after I told her next time we went we would bring gloves and a garbage bag with us.

I can't believe I haven't posted since Monday. We've had a lot going on but just mumbo jumbo. Nothing fun or important. The girls have been doing a lot of drawing lately and they are pretty cute so I thought I would post a few. Yes, these are just a few. They could use a whole tab of paper a day if I let them.
Family by Jayda. Notice the little babies. She's still got babies on the brain but not as bad.Dad drawn by Jase.
This totally looks like a gangster girl to me. :) By Jaselynne
Rainbow hair. The face on the left is by Jayda with help from me on the bow, the one on the right is by Jase. The red scribble was added later and I wish it weren't because it was so cute before.
Ok, what do you guys think this one looks like? It's a cake with cherries on it by Jase. Ha!

Randomness

Once in awhile when the girls are upset or scared about something they will sneak into each others beds. This is how I found them when checking on them the other night. They are so cute, I am so glad we had 2 girls together, they are so fun to see how much they love each other. The other day Jase was coloring and Jayda said "Ah Jase, I love it, it's so colorful!" They are full of compliments and love for each other. Not much makes me happier! Jayda is TOTALLY obsessed with Dora saves the Crystal Kingdom. She got the movie and book for Christmas and I'm not kidding she wants to watch it every waking moment and read it every night. We have had to put some major limits on the movie. This is her watching it. No, shes not mad she is just VERY into it.
Jayda found a mermaid in the toy box downstairs and asked if she could play with it. I went in to check on them and this is what they were doing.
Jase is home today and was home a little last week. She has another UTI and this one is hitting her harder than most. She just doesn't feel well so she has been getting her fill of ICarly. We all have!! Isn't Coopers face in this one funny. He woke up right when I was taking the picture, he looks like he is smiling!
I now belong to the local Jazzercise. It should be good. I'm a little nervous. Don't know why. Maybe because I will be flopping around not knowing what I'm doing in front of a bunch of strangers. But it should be good.

Homework

Jase's class has been studying penguins. To go along with the cold theme they read the book 'Mama, Do You Love Me?' We have the book as well and it's a regular read. It is about a little Inuk that asks her mom "Mama, would you love me if..." Anyway, their assignment was to come up with a question and we as parents had to talk with them about it and answer it. Here's Jasey's.
When I read it I gasped. I wrote on the back 'I would be sad but I would still love you.' I thought about it today and I should have added-and maybe a little mad. Ha.

Info on John and Kaylin

Well it's finally out. We have known for just close to a month now that John and Kaylin are going to live with their Grandma Carey in California. We decided not to say anything because it wasn't our place to tell but now that the news is out I can post on it. A lot of people were holding out hope that it wouldn't happen but Angela told us when we first found out that there was no way they weren't going. So we came to terms with it then. We don't really have an opinion on it. This whole experience has changed how we view things, people and plans in life. We have no control in it so come what may. These are the times when I believe that our Heavenly Father has a plan. I don't always understand but just accept. We are worried that we will never see them again. We are worried about the (not so positive) past coming into their lives. We don't know whats best for them. We would like to say we do but we don't. It's out of our hands literally and spiritually. We know another move is going to be super hard for them but who's to say it won't be better in the long run. Everyone has a lot of opinions based on the past and I really hope things have changed. She has been petitioning for them since 08. That's a while to be fighting for them. She has an unconditional Grandma love and I'm hoping that she can continue that and be a blessing to them. We still pray for them just the same. We still love them just the same. We still want what's best for them just the same. And honestly who's to say this isn't it.

Well I made it.

New shoes-75$
New underarmour-20$
Perfect weather to run in-priceless
Me unable to run today because not only am I sick with the flu but I stepped on an earring last night-GRRRR
Sean knocked my jewelry box on the floor last night and missed just one little earring. My heel didn't! Ouch!

Baby Christian

We have a new nephew. Christian. He is a cutie and a keeper. He belongs to Sean's sister Melissa and her husband DJ. He was born shortly before Christmas and came to visit when he was just a few days old. Next time they come to town I am ordering them to let me know a little ahead of time so I can plan a baby shoot. Hint Hint Melissa!

Sean's Mom holding Christian. He was sure listening to his Grandma.
Brennan loved holding this new little one. My sick kids were outta luck!I think this one is hilarious. He looks like he is thinking 'ugh'.

I played around with a couple. What a handsome little man.

Congrats Melissa and DJ. We're so happy for you!

An odd week

It has been kind of a wierd week. I have decided when I have a lot on my mind I don't have anything to blog about. I could have done a post on the Redford Christmas or the girls soccer season but haven't had the drive to upload all the photos that go with. Sorry for the lag, I vow to get on it. Here's a tidbit-I was invited to run a half marathon in a few months. I better get on it. But a half is waaaay better than a full with this awful weather to train in!! Cold, snowy, rainy, muddy...we'll see what next week brings. It'd be awesome if it's just a dry 40*!!! Higher would be better but hey it's January! Beggers can't be choosers!

Ode to Emily

We had to get our cat Emily put to sleep. He had cancer and was not doing well at all. I didn't want to wait until I found him in the morning and I'm glad we took him in 2 days sooner than we had planned. He really was a great cat. Not to needy, just enough hanging around. Wanted to be outside most of the time but would come in for a little lovin. Perfect. All of these pictures show Emily in the positions he would just sit and lay in all the time. I would take pics because he was so funny. What a fatty!
A picture Jaselynne took.
And we would laugh everytime he would sleep like this! So funny!
And he wasn't licking himself, he would just sit like this.
This is when he started to get really sick. Sad.

And this was taken just a couple nights ago. The girls made sure and said goodnight and goodbye every night just in case. It was their idea, they are worrywarts just like someone else I know.

See ya someday Em! Jayda told me I would! :)

Jayda's questions

Since I am in funny quote mode I thought I would put this one out there too. Jayda asks quite a few questions and more than I want to admit I don't know how to answer. We have a sick animal so death has been on the kids' minds lately. This was this morning~ Jayda-"Mom is Jesus coming today?" Me-"Um..I don't know, I don't think so but really I have no idea." Jayda-"Oh. Well, he comes alot when the animals are sleeping to take them away." Me-"He does?" Jayda-"Ya Mom, because that's the way the real world works." Good to know at least she lives in the real world.

A week in the life...

The girls have been particularly funny the last week or so. I posted a few of these on Facebook but not all of you are on Facebook (MOM!) but sorry for the repeats.
-Jayda has got her fake hamster caught in her hair a few times and she just comes up to me and says "Did it again Mom, just don't cut to much hair."
-I heard Jayda seriously laughing so hard I thought she was going to pass out and Jase yelling "Ewww...she peed on my leg."
-When I was hugging Jayda she said "Mom, you are smushing my face a little to much."
-Jase's prayer tonight "Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the.......um........hmmm....I gotta think about this one for a minute."
-When I was complaining about Cooper peeing in the house (Again! That dog might just disappear one day) Jase said "Good! Now we can get the Potty Patch!" A fake patch of grass for dogs to go on inside. NEVER!
-I had mentioned to Sean the other night that we might have to have a new rule of no cell phones at the table. The next night Sean got a text and brought his phone to the table and Jase said "Daaaad, remember no texting at the table." Atta girl Jase.
-When I told Jayda she had enough of my lipstick on she said "But Mom I only have a lot on, now I need just a little too."
Jayda with only her alot of lipstick on.

Crazy tips

From time to time I come across some amazing tips! I decided some are worthy to pass on so when I come upon an awesome tip you'll be sure to hear about. Others I think of on my own and feel those are just as awesome!! :) So expect those as well.
I posted on this once before but found out another handy bit of info-
1. Hand Sanitizer takes ink pen out of micro suede and some other fabrics. Handy bit of info=Hairspray will also do the job, sometimes better. Just apply and dab until lightened, reapply and scrub if you need to!
2. Our new garbage can has an inner plastic section (looks just like another garbage can) that comes out. The bag suctions in there and when I would try and pull it out I'd rip it everytime. Sooo I drilled about 15 holes in the inner plastic container. A ring around (not on) the bottom and then a few up each side. I also made sure to get all the sharp pieces off of the inside. Now the bags pull out just like butta. You can't imagine how much frustration I have saved myself!!

I love my man!

He brought me flowers last night. This is a pretty rare occasion so I wanted to document it. I really don't mind that he doesn't do it very often. I would much rather him save the money and take out the garbage or make dinner or something. But it is pretty nice surprise when he does and it's usually for no reason.
I made a smart comment to him about the sticker saying they were 'savage pink' and he said "well I got those because they looked the least dead." Ha!He really is an awesome husband. Smart, able, dedicated and considerate. He is always supportive and above all loves me as much as I love him, although he still says he does just a little bit more.

Christmas morning

After I pryed Jayda outta bed she took a little bit to wake up.But Jase got right to it.
She didn't take to long though.
Then Jaselynne noticed that when we decorated the tree the week before without Sean we didn't put on the Angel because that's Dad's job. So Dad had to do his job. Better late than never.
The kids wanted me to make sure I showed everyone how good Santa was to the animals. I started this tradition before I was even married and now I couldn't stop if I wanted to. Santa thinking Sadie was naughty. Never.
The aftermath. They made short order of the presents, it makes it look like they had a ton but all the wrapping and packaging can be deceiving.

We always have a great time for Christmas with our own little family. I love it.

Christmas with the Langshaws

After Christmas morning at our house we went to my families house. One sad thing about my parents is they tend to be procrastinators. And when running around Christmas Eve to find a tree failed-out came the teeny tiny token Charlie Brown tree. It is about a foot tall. Cute but a foot tall. Fortunately, Michaela's Dad said they could have his that he doesn't put up anymore so Christmas morning we had a gangly 4 foot tall fake tree with no decorations. Doesn't that scream Merry Christmas. Good thing we brought all the cheer! :)
The lovely Charlie Brown tree. Dane doing his "Yes!" after opening an awesome present.
Jase with her and Jayda's Zhu Zhu pet city.
Jayda and my Mom working on her new flashcards. She loves them. Surprised me.
Then on New Years almost the rest of the crew arrived. The young side of the room-Conley, Jase, Jayda, Finley.
The 'other' side of the room-Grandma Langshaw, Dad, Donna, Grandpa Lobe, Grandma Lobe and Maycee's Beautiful head.
Jase gettin a little love from Great Gramma.
Dane loved this Dinosaur and carried it with him and would just feel it's toenails. So cute.
I know this picture isn't exciting but I wanted to show what we spent a great amount of time doing. Playing Rock Band. We're all hooked. The reason I went with this pic is it cracked me up that Grandma was in there watching us play all these crazy rock songs.
