Grumpy Gus has been hanging around lately and I sure wish

he would leave so I could have my sweet Jayda back!

No, she didn't get a hold of the scissors.

Jayda had started asking if we would cut all her hair off when she turned 4. However, she kept chickening out which was fine by me. I could tell that she was really ready this time because she didn't waver at all when I told her what was going to happen and Jase's crying didn't phase her a bit. So we did it. We cut my Jayda's hair.

Here are the befores.
YES! I know it is crazy long! Below her little hiney.I had to include this one because it is so funny. She was a little immodest so I did my best at making her like her new favorite movie 'Barbie. A Mermaids Tale.' She was trying to grow her bangs out like Jaselynne but she was tired of it by this stage. Obviously. On with the show.

And then accidently swinging it a little to much and flinging hair EVERYWHERE! The rubber band wasn't near tight enough! I almost shed a tear. I cut it that short so we could donate it. But I am sending what is still in my hand. Disaster averted. Except the dogs didn't like hair in their water to much. :)And the finished product! She told me she wanted it like Dora. I can picture her saying 'Hola' right now! Isn't she just the cutest thing e.v.e.r.

And here's the back of it. I cut off about 18 inches. And she's only 4! Like I said before--I know...crazy!

Health update

This is for my nosey family. :) Just kidding about the nosey part. I had an appt today to discuss my appt last Thursday. My kidneys checked out fine so they are sending me to a specialist in Spokane. My doctor is guessing it is some form of arthritis he just doesn't know what he should be testing for. I am guessing the appt is not going to be real soon. Maybe a couple months. The doc said the one in Wenatchee is a 4 month wait so I guess we'll see. They are setting it up for me and haven't called yet. So news wise--I am ok. They don't think it's autoimmune and they aren't worried about my kidneys anymore. Good for me. I will update when I know more but it'll probably be a couple months. Take it now as No News is Good News. Thanks for the prayers, calls and thinking of you's!

Happy Birthday Jase!!

Saturday was Jaselynne's Birthday. The big 7 years old! Ahhh...makes me cringe. This is what she woke up to. A little love note from Dad. He's almost as sweet as she is. :)

I planned the day out and she didn't know anything we were doing. We had slept in and we just hung out, ate snacks and played until we surprised her with a lunch date at her favorite Chinese restaurant during Dad's lunch break.And of course let her order her favorite---Diet Pepsi. Gross if you ask me!

Then we headed to Big R where they had gotten their shipments of chicks in.

Then headed out to the fundraiser for the Roundup where you could ride horses. The girls chickened out, which is funny because they have ridden before, so they just petted instead.

Then I gave her 5 dollars and let her spend it wherever. She chose Goodwill. One smart cookie that she can get more for 5 bucks there than Walmart. We then went home, loaded up the bikes, went and fixed the flats and rode to hearts content. Yes, I realize we need to take the training wheels off. It's priority this summer. :)

We then went home and opened presents. It was funny because Jase got a Littlest Pet Shop car and Jayda was upset she wasn't sharing. Jayda said "But Jase they tell you to share on the commercial! And you are not listening to the commercial!"
Jayda enjoying the barretts Jase got for her bang growing out situation. We have a tradition that the birthday boy/girl get to pick whatever they want for dinner, sides and all. You will be excited to know Jase picked Hamburger Helper Cheesy Enchilada. Ha. We then went to the movies and saw 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid'. We had a really great day and love that we are able to do fun stuff that doesn't cost to much. We did splurge on lunch and the movies but Hey It's My Girls Birthday!!

My health

So I've had quite a few inquiries on my health status. I figured this would be easier than calling. Sorry for the impersonalization but that's a lot of calls. Here's the news---they have yet to figure me out. I went today for my fourth urine and blood sample in the last few weeks. I am doing a good job confusing them. They have found a few abnormalities (however none of them point them in the joint area) and are now thinking maybe I have a problem with my kidneys. This leads them to believe the abnormal tests, joint pain, swelling and possible kidney problems are secondary. That there is an underlying condition. They were thinking it was an autoimmune disorder but I am testing ok with those. I should have my latest tests back in a few days and will keep you informed. The blood tests I had today were up at the hospital. Dr. ordered arterial tests and they can't do them at the clinic. It was a bit different (for one they put the needle straight in!) and I'm going to be a bit sore but don't worry Grandma-I handled it like a champ. I did however cringe when the needle was swaying with my heartbeat and when they took it out and I spurted blood on the table. I'm a bleeder! :) So that's the latest, I didn't blog about it before because there really wasn't anything to tell. We are just waiting. And while I'm waiting I'm going to go rake the mowed grass because it's not gonna rake itself!!

Holy Cow I am amazed at all the blogs you can find that do giveaways. It's craziness!! Ask me about it if you are curious. I have yet to win anything because I only enter if I really really like it but I think I might have to start doing it for every one I find. I would sure increase my wardrobe, my jewelry, my gift card stash and whatever else everyone is giving away. Gotta go find something else to enter. Wish me Luck!

Thankful Monday

I am stealing the idea from another blog I follow. I am going to try and post every Monday with what I am thankful for, not only in general but from the past week. No pictures. That might make me more likely to do it. ha. Anyway, on with the show.

I am thankful this week that I learned I am strong. I knew I was strong minded and strong headed but emotionally I have always been kind of weak. I could tell you exactly where I get it from too. :) I have never viewed it as a weakness because caring about something isn't weak. It is caring. Well, this last week I was put in a situation I hadn't imagined I would be put in. Someone telling me something I didn't expect and having to defend myself. I did. I stood up for myself and my family and told the truth. I wasn't ashamed of anything. I stood proud and I will because I know--I know the truth, Sean knows the truth, my friends and family know the truth and Heavenly Father knows. He knows the hearts desires and the hearts true feelings and he is proud of me.

I am also thankful that I have the family I have. Not only our little family but the awesomely supportive, crazy cool extended family that we have. We really are a lucky bunch!

Just call me the Jack of all trades

I have been wanting to cut Jase's hair for awhile now. It was just so dead and scraggly and not so cute. So I finally did it. She wasn't real thrilled. There were a few tears but it had to be done.

I forgot to take a before picture (I know!) and this was the best I could find.
She delayed the cutting a little by convincing me to let her take a shower before.

But then the inevitable.It doesn't look like to much (she's holding about 6") but after the clean up trimming it ended up being about 8 inches.So what do you think?Awesome if I do say so myself. Can you see the layers. Not bad for my first time besides boys and bangs.

Random pictures

I found a few random pictures that I thought I would share.
Jase has become more independant the last 6 months or so. She is starting to make her own snacks and get her own drinks ect. This is one after school snack she made. If you look close the ham is on the side and the chips are in the sandwich. She has always done that and it is kinda funny. And it's only good if it's smooshed. Sean has been making Korean food more often lately. It helped that he was able to shop to his hearts content at the Asian Market in Renton. I have had a few surprises. :)

This was a couple months ago. Jase got Bend-a-roos for Christmas (bendable shapable sticky string) and she did this all on her own. I went in her room, saw it and ran to get my camera. She was embarassed and I had to convince her to let me take a picture.

Baby Christians Blessing

We made a trip to Spokane. Another 24 hour trip. We went to my newest nephews baby blessing. It was pretty fun. We had good food, good talk and were surrounded by good people. What could be better. Getting to take pictures of that new sweet baby thats what! After the blessing we tried to make a pitstop to take some pictures at the park but ze bebe was not happy. I thought this picture was pretty cute anyway.

Then home to have a feeding, a nap and a blowout. The cleaning up was successful and there was no mustard yellow on the blessing outfit!Then we got to the picture taking. He is such a cutie!!! And Melissa made his little sweater and hat! Amazing!! I have decided if we ever have a baby boy I am going to pay her to make me one! Now we'll see if she'll do it. :)The next two are almost the same but I can't decide which one I think is cuter.

I love this little grin.But this crazy grin is pretty cute too!

I have at least 5 more really cute ones that need some editing. My computer is being crazy and I don't know what I'm going to do about it yet.

Babies are such a blessing! Congratulations Melissa and DJ. You made a cute one!

Spring

What a beautiful day.

The birds are singing, the sun is shining.

I can see the leaves peaking on the trees,

The garden grinning with green.

I notice the sky is a little bluer,

The clouds a little whiter,

My heart a little happier.

I watch the branches nod in the breeze.

I feel the warmth of the sun on my face.

The fresh air in my lungs.

I am amazed at the wonders.

Everything anew again.

Growing,

Constantly changing,

Eager to show itself.

I smile in agreement.

Close Call

Ever wonder what is sounds like from upstairs when a six year old stands up on the back of the couch in the basement into the ceiling fan. Terrible. Horrible. Loud. It sounds like when you are using a drill and strip the screw but keep right on trying. Good News is: She didn't get hurt. Not even in the slightest. No scalping, no blood, no crying, not even a scratch. Scared us to death but she's fine. And not standing on the back of the couch anymore.
