Punkin Pickin

The Redford fam went to the pumpkin patch the other day and it was pretty fun! I had the in on the free patch and I'm so glad that it worked out Jakob and Makia were able to go with us. Here we are searching for the perfect pumpkin. Uncle Justin found Jayda's pretty fast.
How about this one.

And this one.
Evalie found the perfect pumpkin thanks to a little help from her Mom.
Neat but No.
Finally after a few rounds Jase got hers.
It was a little bright outside but not to bright for me to say "Say cheese"
The Dads makin the numerous hauls back to the cars.

Fun Memories! Thanks guys!

Random Tuesday

The other night I went down to switch the laundry and guess what...there was yet again water in our basement. Not to much so I wasn't terribly worried but I went and got Sean to see if he knew what was up. He took one look and said it is coming from the roof. What!!? All the way to the basement!? He proceeded to tell me the pipe he thought it was dripping down was the sewer vent on the roof. So the next day on his lunch break we went to Lowe's and then he climbed up on the roof and fixed it. It worked!! No more leak and minimal damage. I'm so glad my husband is smart and handy!! Now to get the ceiling fixed.A bag of shoes. Jayda's bag of shoes. Jayda's bag of shoes that she has grown out of in the last 3 months. FIFTEEN pairs of shoes and one pair of slippers in the last THREE months. The good thing about it is I only bought one pair recently all the others were from Jase. I'm gonna have to sneak in her shoe bin and snag a couple more that she wouldn't part with. Apparently it's her feet getting the nutrients now.I found our rugs at the storage unit the other day and I guess the dogs missed them! Emily was even in on the rug action but had moved by the time I got my camera. They don't hardly move off of them now even though they have beds all over the place. Silly dogs.

Cousin Sleepover

This is the first time we have had a sleepover that wasn't babysitting also. We have babysit cousins overnight and told the kids it was a sleepover but this was a first. And Makia was a great first! I was a little nervous because I didn't know what to say if she changed her mind or cried to go home. But she didn't. Her and Jase stayed up whispering till the wee hours and they woke up happy. Me not so much, I don't do tired.
This is 'the girls' in their pj's.
(ignore the messiness, that's half the fun!)
This was in the car on the way to the pumpkin patch the next day. That post coming next.

Aren't they cute! Blah....Blah....Blah....(chorus)....um.....(Jayda yelling in the background).....Baby just say Yes!
We had a great time lugging Makia around everywhere we went. They got along spectacular except for Jayda feeling a little left out at times but we look forward to the next time!!

Mom lied

This entry is probably a little longer than it needs to be but I haven't blogged all week and I just kept typing. :)

I needed a signature from a doctor for Jayda's pediasure prescription to be covered by the state. It is $2 a bottle and she is supposed to drink 3 a day but I so far haven't been able to get that much in her. Our doctor went to work in another department and so we no longer have a regular doc. I have been asking and have gone to 2 different clinics and they are not accepting any new patients. There is a shortage of smartie pants here. I have to check another but I'm not excited. So for now I went to the temporary overflow doctor who is here only until May. I did find one lady who might accept us but she is booked out until March. MARCH! I can just imagine someone saying 'ya, my funny rash can wait until 2010.' Ha. Anyway, our temp Dr. Bilz is great. Nice lady. I had to get an actual appt with her before she would sign my papers. Makes sense. When I told Jayda we had to go to the doctor- first thing she asked was "Do I have to get shots?" I say "Nooo, it's just a check up, it will be fast and easy." Dr. Bilz asked a lot of questions about Jayda and did some calculations and did a little exam and decided she wanted to do a thyroid check. Which means drawing blood---A shot. Then she says she would like it if she got a flu shot because Jayda is vulnerable and last year when she got the flu she lost quite a bit of weight. So another shot is in the works. Jayda looked at me like, well..like I had lied to her. I felt terrible but she did so great. She didn't even flinch when they did the flu shot. Not even a little. Then she hopped off the table and ran to the door to get her sticker. The nurse thought it was so funny. Jayda picked a pencil. Then we walked down to get blood drawn and of course some little kid was SCreaming his head off so we went and took a detour to the fountain until they called our name. Jayda walked right in there like she owned the place. She sat on my lap, put her arm out, and they drew her blood no problem. Not a word. The ladies in there were like "can she have a tattoo? She was so good she can have whatever she wants." Jayda walked outta there and the first thing she says was "Mom, I was brave wasn't I." And of course I stopped and gave her hugs and kisses and said "the bravest girl I know!" And then I told her sorry a few times and took her to the dollar store to make up for my whoops. Showing off her new pencil and her Ariel tattoo that she wanted on her heart. ?

A little info: My Jayda now weighs 29 pounds, to put it in perspective a friend just had her babies 6 month check up and he weighed 20 lbs (he is a little chunky but still). I don't think she looks terribly small but she is tiny and she doesn't like to eat. The doctor said she is getting closer to the charts but is still about 10% under the 1%. I don't really think it is a thyroid issue but wouldn't that be something if it was and we had no idea something was up. It would be nice to see 'thyroid' and not 'failure to thrive' on her charts though! She is such a smart happy child and I have no worries she will grow and accomplish anything she wants!!

IT IS COLD!!

It has been quite a few years since we haven't had central heat. Actually, I can only think of 1 in our 13 moves (technically 2 but we didn't spend a winter there). A LOT with no central air but I have always been blessed with heat. Good because I love heat and warm and hot and anything else not cold!!! Apparently me and the animals are on the same page. Cooper is now decked out in a cabbage patch football sweatshirt.
And Sadie is sporting one of Jayda's sweatshirts. She would not stop shivering until I convinced her to lay in front of the heater with a blanket on too. It's funny when she gets up she keeps the blanket on her and just goes and lays down when she's done. She walks slow and everything. And poor Em. He has since found a warmer spot. Face down must be warmer!?

Still so unsure

Jaselynne's school paper she brought home the other day.
Dad, Kaylin, Jayda, John, Jase, and Mom.

John and Kaylin are still such a prominent part of everyday life yet we can't see them, talk to them, kiss them, hug them, or play with them. We can only miss them, talk about them and pray for them. And we do all of those things constantly.

A typical day involves an "I hope we see John and Kaylin today" a "Do you think they will be at Wal-mart when we go" an "I can't believe Kaylin is in Preschool, what a big girl"(my favorite, Jase is so cute), and prayers at night "Dear Heavenly Father, I wish John and Kaylin still lived with us." When the girls say these things it breaks my heart. I think of all these things plus a lot more but it sounds so much worse out loud and from my children.

I have had this post in limbo for days and have deleted almost everything I have written. I don't want this to be a pity post and I keep changing my mind about what I should write. I don't want this to be a post of anger. I don't want this to be a post of hurt. But it is.

I decided since this blog is my journal and my scrapbook all in one, what a better place to keep letters to them. So bare with me as I will only do this one time. I want these not only for me and the family but just in case John and Kaylin ever want to find us. So here goes.

Dear Johnathon, My Johnny Boy, My buddy, My duder,

I love you. I love you and miss you so much. You are my boy and I am so sorry if you feel I let you down. I am hoping when you are older we can talk to you and explain certain things. This whole thing is not your fault and I'm sorry you have had to go through it. I know all these things will make you strong because you are such a strong boy already. You are so sweet and caring and I love how much you care for Kaylin. You are a smart boy and love school. You are so good at hugs and kisses and the best cleaner upper ever!! You fit into our family so well. I pray every day that you have found your forever family and that you will be happy. I miss you Johnathon. We all do and we will.

Dear Kaylin, My Kaylinee Renae, My booger butt, My snots,

I love you. I miss you. My heart is broken everyday I wake up and you are not here. I am sorry. I to hope if you want to find us-you will-so I can tell you everything I know. We have so many memories to share and pictures to show. You are my girl and I will never ever forget your beautiful smile and your mischievous grin. You are such a smartie and knew how to figure things out. You are the best at having fun and are such a good singer and dancer. You will be a good leader and I know you will become whatever you put your mind to. You are my heart My Kaylin and I miss you terribly. I am so glad you are with Johnathon and pray every day about you and John and your family. I love you Kaylin, forever and ever.

Little sinus info for the fam

THANKS KERENSA!! You saved me hundreds of dollars. I, as well as Sean, am grateful for the old prescription. It took a few days but is starting to work. Wahoo.
I think I am still going to try the chiropractor to see if it helps. Wish me luck.
Thanks for all the concerns and well wishes. Love, Kim and her almost happy sinus cavity

Sinus help wanted

I hate sinus infections!! I get them way to often! And with no insurance I'm left to fight them on my own or face the bill. These are what I've been taking a day just to get by. They don't make me feel good just good enough. Not to mention this stuff too.
I am posting this hoping someone will have some advice. Home remedies, ect. I have also done apple cider vinegar which does help but makes me sick to my stomach so I use it as a last resort and sometimes I would rather just pay the hundreds to get a prescription. Monday is my deadline for feeling like crap so any advice will help.

Semi-mortified

I say semi because only a few people were paying attention. Forewarning this story involves a cuss word. Let me set it up for you---I picked up Jayda from preschool and took her and Dane to Safeway to pick up some mayo. Thats all I needed. I load them into the car cart and start into Safeway. We are about 30 feet inside the store when Dane says "oh sh*t" and I'm thinking did he really say that or did I just think he said that? But it was immediately followed by "Oh Sh*t" and "OH SH*T" yes, progressively louder. I didn't even have time to react before the 3rd one. I'm looking around to see if anyone heard and yep they did. One lady was even standing wide eyed with her hand on her mouth. Ha. I chuckled and told Dane "we don't say that word Dane" looked at the lady and said "He's not mine, I'm not gonna claim fault for that!" Ahh..out of the mouths of Babes!!
